Supported by the Hive business leaders network and organised by Fettle Events, the Hive Blackburn and Darwen Business Awards 2017 are open to businesses, organisations and individuals based in Blackburn and Darwen and will celebrate the best of business in the borough.
Hive Blackburn with Darwen Business Awards will take place on 10 May 2017 at King George’s Hall.
Entries are now open and will close at midnight on Friday 31 March 2017. This deadline cannot be extended.
You can enter a maximum of four categories.
To be eligible, you must be paying business rates to Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
Can I enter the awards if I run a small company from home?
Yes, as long as you are based in Blackburn and Darwen and are doing business, you are eligible to enter the awards.

Entry is through the dedicated online entry forms available on the website until midnight, Friday 31 March 2017.
We suggest that you save your entry in to a document and then paste your answers in to the online entry form.
Yes. Any text that exceeds the word count will not be counted as part of your entry.
Throughout the entry form you will see an ‘info’ icon next to certain questions. Here we’ve include further information to support you in completing your entry so make sure you hover over the icon to view this.

You will receive an email confirmation so you can be sure we have received your entry form. Provisionally mark out 27 April on your calendar as this is when the judging will take place should you be shortlisted.
All written entries will be scrutinised by our judges and finalists will be announced on 7 April 2017.
All finalists will be invited to meet a judging panel for interview on 27 April 2017. These dates cannot be changed.
The Awards are judged by panels made up of independent business experts and sponsors.
Your interview will last for 25 minutes in total, however you will be allocated 30 minutes in the judges room to allow time for introductions. Upon entry the judging panel will introduce themselves to you, and you will be asked to introduce yourself to the panel. You will be asked to make a presentation for the judging panel lasting up to 10 minutes. There then will be a Q & A session lasting up to 15 minutes.
All finalists will be notified on Friday 7 April 2017.
Please note: The decisions of the judges will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Hive Blackburn with Darwen Business Awards will take place on 10 May 2017 at the iconic King George’s Hall.
It’ll be a night of drama and excitement. There will be fantastic opportunities to network with the best businesses in the borough. And there’ll be great food and entertainment. In short – it’ll be a right good do!

Absolutely! All details of guests, including dietary requirements can be provided closer to the event date.
We will be looking to have all attendees listed by 1 May.
Once a booking has been made, details of how to notify of us any dietary requirements will be sent directly to you.
As the awards is a non-ticketed event, this will not be possible.
